In first grade students “soar” through learning as readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, historians, problem-solvers,  communicators and collaborators.  Tremendous growth in reading is demonstrated from the beginning to the end of the school year.  We also  focus on building classroom community, emphasizing the importance of friendships, kindness, sharing and a growth mindset. As teachers we are eager to facilitate this learning and so much more with our 53 combined years of teaching experience.   As all teams do at Canterbury Woods, we work collaboratively to plan for, assess, enrich and intervene for all students.
